The Curiosity Open Robotics Challenge

The Curiosity Open is the last in a series of "off-season" robotics tournaments for high school teams that regularly participate in the FIRST® Robotics Competition.
The Great Lakes Science Center is proud to once again host the Curiosity Open Robotics Challenge, an annual off-season robotics tournament that features some of the best high school robotics teams from across the region. This past season, several FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) Teams from the Great Lakes region successfully competed at major events both nationally, and internationally, and on Saturday, September 28, the Science Center will welcome up to 24 of these teams to Cleveland, to compete in one of the most anticipated off-season events of the year! This year's event features some of the top-performing high school robotics teams from Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, to play "CRESCENDOSM," the same high-energy, high-tech, music-themed "Game" that was played during the regular 2024 competition season.

Be sure to catch all the excitement of this intense competition that showcases industrial-sized, mobile robots developed and operated by teams of high school students. Spectators can tour the "pits" to meet the teams and get a closer look at their robots! Admission is FREE! Come cheer on your favorite teams!
