Local Teams Reach the Playoffs

Congratulations to the members of all four of our supported FRC Teams on their outstanding performance this past weekend at the Curiosity Open.

​

During the Qualification rounds, each team contributed to the scoring in every MATCH they played, shifting seamlessly from offense to defense and back again as the changing situation demanded. At the concussion of the qualification rounds all four teams were ranked within the top 15 at the event, far better than they had ever performed before.

​

With their 8th place ranking, Team 8145 (the Tech Warriors of East Technical High School) was named “Captain” of the 8th seeded ALLIANCE and was able to select their own partners moving into the PLAYOFFS.  The three remaining teams, #8140 (the RoboManiacs of MC2 STEM High School), #8222 (the Argonauts of Davis Aerospace & Maritime High School), and #8243 (the AstroCircuits of John Marshall School of Information Technology) all performed well enough to selected by other ALLIANCE Captains and continued to compete deep into the playoff rounds of the double elimination tournament, with Team 8140 making it all the way to the into the Semi-finals as a member of the top seeded ALLIANCE that finished the tournament in 3rd place!

“I am so proud of these teams for what they’ve achieved, and what they’ve overcome to reach this level. I can’t wait to see what they will accomplish next season!” said Mr. Bradshaw, one of our mentors and the Game Announcer at the tournament.
